Mistletoe Santa gourd by Sheryl Parsons. A tall, stately Santa finished in a textured taupe and deep red. Accents of green leaves and white berries go together perfectly. Santa has a definite twinkle in his eyes. Sheryl starts with a dried gourd and then adds the layers of paper mache or paper clay to areas which she can then sculpt out the features of Santa and all the details. Once dried she uses numerous paint layers and washes to bring the Santa gourd to life. Gourds have been used artistically for centuries. Their unique shapes and relatively smooth finish are a favorite for many Santa artists. Dried for longevity and preservation one can still hear the seeds rattle about inside if shaken. Sheryl's wonderful talents in painting make each of these gourd Santas a one of a kind artistic masterpiece. All hand painted and signed by Sheryl Parsons.
