"It's time for Christmas - a very ornate Santa kneeling on toybag with staff and Christmas tree. Beautiful pose and detail throughout this carving with rich Christmas reds accented with gold and woodburned detail. Woodburning is very time consuming but the effect of added dimension, texture and coloring are striking and can be found everywhere on this piece, from the double sided staff, Santa's boots and coat, the toybag scenes and clock.The Santa measures 14 inches tall with an overall height of staff and tree being 16 inches. This Russian Santa made for Reasons to Believe is hand carved from solid linden, also known as either basswood or lime in various parts of the world. Once carved and sanded the Santa is hand painted and finished in extraordinary detail with numerous coats and finally signed or initialed by the artist."
