Tucked away in a stable filled with curious animals, Joseph and Mary look lovingly upon the Christ child. Through the window of the stable, the bright shining star of Bethlehem can be seen as icicles hang down from the rooftop. On this snowy eve, the world has a new beginning of hope and peace. This majestic carved Santa looks proudly on as he holds a gift for the newborn King. The painting on his coat, hat and staff are rich in tones of greens, golds and burgundys. The spirit of giving can be felt throughout this beautiful nativity scene piece. All Russian Santas made for Reasons to Believe are hand carved from solid linden, also known as either basswood or lime in various parts of the world. Once carved and sanded the Santa is hand painted and finished in extraordinary detail with numerous coats and finally signed or initialed by the artist.
