Arctic Christmas - Santa with Animals. In the most northern areas of the world, creatures gather to enjoy an early morning sunrise on one of shortest days ot the year. Standing beside each other, elk, polar bears, wolves, seals, snowshoe hare and even a winter owl show their respect for their beautiful home. As the sun rises through the mountain peaks, Christmas Day begins. Scenes of nature are painted on Santa's coat and on his toy bag. This blue, wintery Santa will fill your heart with the feeling of peace and serenity during this holiday season. All Russian Santas made for Reasons to Believe are hand carved from solid linden, also known as either basswood or lime in various parts of the world. Once carved and sanded the Santa is hand painted and finished in extraordinary detail with numerous coats and finally signed or initialed by the artist. This artist made two of these carvings for us, each similar yet slightly different.
