"Gentle Kindness - Words cannot descibe this masterpiece. This Santa Claus bust is artistically stunning and from a carving perspective absolutely remarkable. Three years and hundreds of hours in the process it all began as a single block of butternut wood. Many custom carving tools were required to complete the intricate textures, relief and undercuts involved throughout this piece from the delicate and intricate holly on Santa's hat to the fur trim of his collar and hat. Santa has an old world look about him with beautifully carved and finished eyes, distinct and complementary textures from his flowing beard, fur trimmed hat and coat to the silky smooh, gently flowing hat and tassle. Progressively finished with sanding up to 8000 grit fiber and a coat of danish oil applied between each of the dozen finishing steps Santa's hat is so silky smooth one naturally wants to run their fingers down the flow. The holly carved into Santa Claus' hat is an amazing feat in and of itself, creating such detail and relief from a single piece of wood without breaking or damaging the wood. This entire old world Santa bust is carved and finished to perfection. An original design, all hand crafted, carved, finished and signed by Mark Klein."
