Midnight Delivery by Mark and Janet Klein. The sole Kringle carved for 2009, this little guy is a pure masterpiece in carving, detail and painting. He stands just over 3” tall, with the candle-lantern just over 3.5”. Only an accomplished wood carver can really appreciate the detail work involved in shaping a single piece of wood into this delightful Little Kringle. His long and twisted tassel, the holly on his hat, the rocking horse and even the staff, candle-lantern and holly supports all started as one block of wood (as seen in the photographs). The pictures tell the story much better than we can, but with countless hours of carving and 27 hours of painting alone a piece like ‘Midnight Delivery’ rarely comes around. Flawless in every aspect and one of the most remarkable carvings we’ve had the pleasure to hold and appreciate.
