Santa with picture - 95 pounds and 54 inches in height. Comes with custom storage and shipping crate measuring 57 x 18 x 20 inches. Shipping weight is approximately 130 pounds. Most recently featured on the cover of Carving Magazine 2008 Holiday Edition, James Barr specializes in large log carving of Santa Claus. This Santa is carved from a catalpa log. A one of a kind, hand crafted, solid wood Christmas treasure to last for generations. Designed, carved, painted, finished and signed by James Barr. Sealed with a stain sealer and clear acrylic coat with lacquer base this piece has the ability to be put under cover outdoors, on a covered porch for example. As with any wood it should not be exposed to extreme temperature change as the wood needs time to expand and contract...don't take it from the 80 degree living room directly outdoors in below-freezing temperatures. If one desires to set this piece directly in rain or snow it should be sealed with a spar varnish. Please look at all of the images closely and do not hesitate to call us if you have any specific questions regarding this Santa carving. As with any large wood carving there are checks in the wood (cracks between growth rings in wood as the log cures) that occur naturally and have nothing to do with the structural integrity of the log. Various knots and checks in the wood, along with the beautiful woodgrain add to the rustic, log look of these carvings.
