A very unique, hand carved Santa doll by Debbie Barr. This Santa doll is completely hand carved using knives and gouges. Standing approximately 12" tall, he can sit or stand (with the aid of a doll stand), having jointed arms and legs. The entire head, face, hair and boots are also hand carved and hand painted - then finished with a hand rubbed Danish oil. Santa's outfit is custom designed and tailored to his measurements using velvets, velours, wools, faux fur, and hand sewn detail work to finish him off. He is signed with a wood burner on the upper back. Full of character and so uniquely made, this Santa is a true collectible. Debbie will be taking special orders for 2008 on a first come basis if there is customizing details you might like.. for example: carved teddy bears, dolls, snowmen, animals, etc. For custom orders, call or email us with the details. Most will range in price from $795 - $995 depending on the detail and accessorizing. This particular Santa photographed and offered for sale here does come with a doll stand included. Debbie Barr resides in Distant, Pennsylvania. She's been a woodcarver for 28 years and a sculptor for 12, teaching workshops throughout the region. Debbie has also written two books and two educational CD's on woodcarving subjects ranging from caricature women, miniature animals, carvng faces, and carving a black bear. Santas have always been a favorite subject of hers as they are 'great fun to create'!
