Greg Guedel Santa carvings

Greg is a full time artist and wood carver from Indiana. He studied painting in college and then turned his attention to wood carving after receiving a set of knives and chisels as a birthday gift. His wonderful Santa creations are a reflection of his love for both mediums. Each Santa is carved by hand and may include a variety of woods, primarily linden, as well as cedar, pine and aspen. Once carved, the creation is then hand painted in rich, layered colors and antiqued to give them an aged appearance. A lot of Greg's inspiration comes from vintage folk art, antique toys and old circus and vaudeville posters to name a few.
